Book of Matthew 1:18 - 2:12

Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly. But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."

All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: "Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel," which means, "God is with us."

When Joseph awoke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took her as his wife, but had no marital relations with her until she had borne a son; and he named him Jesus.

In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, "Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage."

When King Herod heard this, he was frightened, and all Jerusalem with him; and calling together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. They told him, "In Bethlehem of Judea; for so it has been written by the prophet: 'And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who is to shepherd my people Israel.'"

Then Herod secretly called for the wise men and learned from them the exact time when the star had appeared. Then he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, "Go and search diligently for the child; and when you have found him, bring me word so that I may also go and pay him homage."

When they had heard the king, they set out; and there, ahead of them, went the star that they had seen at its rising, until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they left for their own country by another road.

Why I support Mike Huckabee!

I vote my conscience on values, first and foremost. Without a foundation of values, we would have a country I would not be able to set apart of any other country. I support anyone willing to step up and maintain a standard of values, and Mike Huckabee is the man with the most.

Huckabee is, in the simplest of terms :

-a man who appears to let God guide Him through this leadership. He is a former Baptist Preacher. There hasn't been anything major that I have seen to make me think otherwise. He is never apologetic for his beliefs, but is open to the understanding that we all have been given a rigt to choose, or not to choose our paths of beliefs. He respects other's beliefs.
-Pro- sanctity of life.
-I loved his answer on evolution and whether God exists. LOVED it.
-Pro family issues, such as against same sex marriage.
-I believe he would fight to keep our Christian culture- fight for the Ten commandments and National motto to stay as it stood hundred years ago or more.

-Huckabee did great things for education in His home state, and has made music and arts education a talking point in his campaign. he seems to understand that arts education is the key to opening up young minds to leadership and creativity. IF WE TRULY WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN EDUCATION- THERE IS A PORTHOLE, AND IT IS THROUGH ARTS EDUCATION! I have hammered at that since I began my study in music education as an undergrad. Huckabee gets it!
-I truly believe he cares for the least. I was moved by his answer to Romney on scholarships being available to ANY kid who went through the full course of their education in his state and earned it despite their parents citizenship. He didn't pander to popular hatreds today. To come to that Christian-like conclusion was to be able to put aside anger of the country on immigration and fight for what what was right.
-I like how he answers to the hard questions and criticism.

-he wants to "adjust" the American tax system and his "fair tax" plan seems to have many good ideas. Though I am not a tax expert, I find it more comprehensive and fair than the tie ups that IRS has us in. Banishing the IRS...sounds good to me!
- border security is a strength for him, and I think he will show that more and more to the public as we watch.

-He understands we cannot just pull out of Iraq, but he feels changes must be made.

-He is well spoken and I love his sense of humor and well placed one liners.
The more I look at him the more excited I get about him.

There is NO turning back! I support Mike Huckabee, and I hope you all will as well!

Si es Chavez. No es Bush!

Hugo Chavez had told the Venezuelan people that "Si es Chavez. no es Bush."
Or in English (understand today we need to include the Spanish interpretation as seen above) Chavez: “Our real opponent, our real enemy is the US Empire.” If you vote “yes” tomorrow, you’ll vote for Chávez, if you vote “no”, you’ll vote for Bush!"

So, apparently the Venezuelan people have voted to elect Bush in lieu of "Usted" Chavez and Bush has won another election!

Great Job President Bush! Congratulations on your win...again!
